It’s time to enhance your presentation skills!

Are you missing out on potential clients despite your perfect blend of good content and best presentation design? Well, maybe you need to work on your presentation skills. Many a times, due to anxiety to impress clients, many corporate firms fail to pay adequate attention to their presentation skills. This may seem a small matter initially, but it can impact your business in the long run heavily. It may cost you lot of time to enhance and develop your skills, but a good start costs you nothing. Confused about how to start? Well don’t worry, we are here to help. Follow these five steps, polish them and ace yourself at presentations.

Be conversational:
Do you remember back in school where lousy speeches in assemblies used to make you yawn and sleep? Well, that happened because it’s difficult to engage the human mind in one direction for a very long time unless of course there is a very interesting movie going on. So, it’s best to keep your presentation conversational. It helps keep the client’s mind active and it also helps you stay energetic throughout the presentation session. Also, keep it casual (keeping the professionalism alive) and add some humor (only if you are good at it) in your content. Many corporate firms tend to lose clients because of their inability to hold the attention of their clients for a long time. Therefore, being conversational is of utmost importance.

Don’t be in a hurry:
“Do not be in a hurry to succeed. What would you have to live for afterwards? Better make the horizon your goal; it will always be ahead of you”. This famous quote by the renowned English novelist, William Makepeace Thackeray says it all. Most business presentation designs are well organized, well composed, well comprehensive, yet it fails to attract clients. Do you know why? Probably because they are in a hurry! They jump from slide to slide wanting to accomplish their task quickly. This leaves a bad impression on the clients. They might have questions to ask, but you are a way too fast for them to reach you. Be calm, focused, go slow (yet not so much), enjoy the process and you just made a client for your service already! Isn’t that just simple?

Answer patiently:
You might be well versed about your product or service, but your client isn’t. They might ask questions to gain clarity on the presentation. It’s your responsibility to answer them calmly, patiently and confidently. Don’t forget to wear your smile while answering. The more clearly you answer, the more likely you are to impress the client. Therefore, it’s also imperative to have all your answers ready honestly.  Many corporate firms at the end of their presentation include a separate question and answer round, which often fetch them points. It shows that you have really worked hard on your presentation and is ready to face any challenge ahead. So, decide a time frame, say around three to five mins at the end of the presentation and the day is all yours!

Conclude well:
As much as you need to focus on your introduction, you need to focus the same on your conclusion or sometimes, more! This is because about 70% people remember how things end rather how things start. Therefore, a wise and a positive conclusion can surely cast a spell on the client. There are certain important things that corporate firms should understand while setting up their presentation viz, their presentation design should be best among other competitors, it should convey all the necessary information about your product or service that you offer and most importantly, it should have a positive ending. It is bound to leave a huge impact on the client and who knows, they’ll be all yours.

Practice, practice and practice:
You all must be aware of the fact, “Practice makes a man perfect.” Well, yes it applies here too. We understand that you are already running short of time, but how about working after the normal working hours? Yes! to make your presentation a success you need to go that extra mile! Specially if you are new at your job and lack experience. The number of hour’s corporate companies spend in designing their presentation to achieve the best presentation, they need to invest the same amount of hour in practicing their presentation. This generates confidence, boosts your energy levels and creates connection with what you have written in those slides.  The more confident you are, the more likely you are, to win the client’s attention.

To sum up, a good content and a good presentation design properly blended with the above tips can help you credit your business and further build up your firm’s reputation. In addition, be warm, be comfortable, work on your inefficiencies, improve them and you are finally ready to deliver your presentation and win over your client’s heart.

Recurring Earthquake and Scared People

After long time facing the hardest problem we have ever thought, I am here just to say you people "Hello". May be you all have already know that Nepal is suffering the biggest problem i.e Earthquake Magnitude of 7.9 and 7.4 one after another.

On 25 April 2015 exactly 11:54 am, a big Earthquake  hit Nepal. The epicenter of that Earthquake was Barpak Village of Gorkha District which is a tourist mountain village situated between Kathmandu Valley and Tourism Valley Pokhara. Moreover, small and big many aftershocks were followed all day. The village was completely destroyed in the few seconds. Not only the Barpak Village nearly 35 districts of Nepal was affected by that Earthquake. Meanwhile, I was in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. Many people were scared because of the continuous aftershocks. Off course I was scared. That was really an unforgettable memories which I can not erase from my memory, After a big hit, more than 100 earthquake hits (aftershocks) of magnitude of 4 to 5 were followed whole day. Not only on 25th April 2015, still aftershocks were continuously followed while I am writing this.

Many extensive destruction of buildings and houses along with 2 UNESCO Heritages were caused and more than 10000 thousand people have been reported to be dead and rescue is still on going. There is not actual reports how many people have been dead exactly because of remote areas and rural villages. Gorkha, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchwok and Dolakha districts of Nepal have been completely destroyed by first Earthquake hit of 7.9 magnitude. Later on 12 May another big hit followed which carried remaining buildings and houses. People are scared and they are living on tent and small cottages but many of them are facing rains and storms sitting on open sky. They do not have even a tent. Off course Government has been trying to relief those Earthquake Victims but could not get succeed to reach on many remote villages of mountain region. Because of hilly mountainous region, there have been hard to provide relief in the affected places.

We people have heard that our government along with many national and international org. have announced to provide relief but we are still uninformed because of no availability of communication and damages of available communication mediums. Some says these are only rumors.

We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.
Ronald Reagan

At last I just want to appeal you people to help those people if you wish.

Importance of Media Planning

The breathe and soul of any advertising agency is the ability to understand the need of the client before proceeding with any advertisement campaign and that art is usually termed as ‘Media Planning’. Media Planning is basically the ability to deliver the right message to the right people at the right time with the right media.

So the word ‘right’ places the most vital role in the process of media planning. Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Thumbs Up and most recently IPL 2014 are some of the top brands that have been able to reach the target audience effectively and derive more sales thanks to Media Planning that involves the process of message dissemination.
Importance of media planning

How is it that every time you hear that tune of IPL the word ‘Chalo Bulava Aaya Hai’ comes instantly to your mind. Well that is called brand recall in technical terms and it comes from hitting the right target group with the right media at a cost acceptable to the client. If we talk of top players then you may argue that they have huge budgets but there are many smaller domestic players that today stand tall among international giant brands just because of media planning implemented by their advertising agencies. Media planning is a four-step process involving objectives, strategy, implementation and evaluation.
We are talking of brands like Bajaj, Britannia, Zandu Balm, Fevicol and MDH spices that have been ideals for the advertising agencies.

How sales sky rocket with media planning?

Media planning is what can make or mar an advertising campaign. Continuous analysis, tests and optimization of marketing strategy are all very important for success of any media campaign. A hoard of internal and external technologies is adopted for analyzing the strategies and adding value to a brand. So once you have in mind the target audience for a campaign, accordingly you select the medium of advertising, the place of advertising and the monetary details.

Brands are on the lookout for innovative concepts and according to the target group, media planning is done. Taking youth icons, movie stars is catching up and these not only help in building an image for the brand but also makes people remember them long after. If Shahrukh Khan says Navrattan cool talc is ‘Chotta AC’ then the whole nation believes that and the volumes of sales of the product shoot up. That is the impact which is only possible with an appropriate media plan.

Another tactic: Brand Placement

Brand placement is also excessively being adopted by media planners. Remember Hrithik Roshan talking about drinking Coca-Cola as a token of friendship in Bollywood movie ‘Yaadein’ or Fevicol in ‘Dabangg 2’ and BMW bikes in ‘Dhoom 3’. All these come under brand placement which is an effective line of attack to reach the fragmented audience. Even on the tube, you can see a lot of brand placement in daily sops too. At times a TRP gaining show has the actors talking about an upcoming event or movie, Bollywood celebs are invited in shows and Bigg Boss, Masterchef and many other reality shows openly endorse products all the time. And that definitely is like adding fuel to fire.

Media Mix

According to the campaign, the budget and many demographic factors, media planners need to take the crucial decision of which medium to use to disseminate the message to the said target audience. So, all contacts that the consumer has with a brand are evaluated and accordingly the media is chosen. There may be a mix of social media and television and radio ads that may be used to boost a brand and all that comes under media mix. For example, if you see the Kellogg K shape ad, they used Deepika Padukone as the brand ambassador and the television campaign has been a huge success.

There are many effective ways in which the media planning concept can be put to optimum use by advertisers and it is a huge domain.
